About Lisa Williams, Ed.D.

Lisa Williams is an organizational development strategist, facilitator, and equity-centered leader who helps organizations turn good intentions into workable plans. Her work focuses on leadership development, organizational culture, equity strategy, and strategic planning for education and mission-driven organizations.

She is the Principal and Founder of EMCS Consulting, an independent organizational development and leadership consulting practice built around four pillars: Equity, Mindset, Culture, and Strategy. Through EMCS, Lisa partners with K–12 school districts, higher education institutions, and nonprofits to design strategic plans, facilitate organizational culture change, and build the systems that help good ideas actually stick.

Lisa holds an Ed.D. in Urban Educational Leadership, with dissertation research on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks. She is a National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE) instructor and a published co-author of two books with Corwin Press.

Her work sits at the intersection of organizational development, equity-centered facilitation, leadership development, and strategic planning, helping leadership teams name what's really going on, build shared language and agreements, and design actionable roadmaps that hold up under real-world pressure. Whether she's guiding a school district through a five-year strategic plan, helping a nonprofit senior leadership team rebuild trust, or translating community data into an actionable growth strategy, Lisa's approach is the same: get honest about the current reality, center the people closest to the work, and build a plan that people can actually follow.

Lisa is based in the Woodstock, Maryland area, providing organizational development, leadership development, equity strategy, facilitation, and strategic planning expertise to organizations in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.
